I was just casually chatting with my colleagues about plans for the weekend, knowing many would want to spend their countdown moments with family/friends, stuck in the jam and crowded places with people. Only intention is to get some fun and watch fireworks. It's all about 'hype' I guess..is somehow different for me this year. I chose to be away from the hassle and spend a peaceful-restful new year eve with my loved ones :)

It has been a year of stormy-challenging-closer bond, both personal and family. There were ups and downs moments where it really struck me to questioned God many times. Some prayers were answered yet some were left behind with thoughts. It was quite a struggle learning to trust God in times when I don't seem to understand. No matter how tough it was and it is to come, I just wana thank God for being faithful and standing by our family through the times. Thank you Lord!

Looking back and moving forward, my prayer is that whatever left behind, it will come to a closure and God will continue to see us through with His abundant blessings as a family. Pray for His promises to be fulfilled in each of our lives as we journey into year 2012.

Personally, I hope that God will also grant me with a bigger and clearer magnifying glass to drill deeper on His plans for me. Blessed New Year peepss!!

Can you guess the relation of this picture with this post? Its neither learning ABC nor learning about colours. It rather speaks about my interview process in Nestle today. I'm thankful that God answered my prayer. I was shocked to receive their call during my saturday noon nap. Weird hour huh? Probably meeting timeline to shortlist the candidates.

It was another amazing interview experience with 50 minutes of Q&A session. In fact, they told me is the 3rd stage of selection. So, understandable why they questioned in detail. Both interviewers were pretty professional. I would term them as all rounder. Even the HR personnel also knows about brand equity. During the interview, I was exactly like the box with different content inside. They actually 'dig' things within me one after another..after asking for A, then they go further with B, C, D and the list goes on. Practically, I don't have the time to even think how to answer. Just gotta speak intelligently.

It was very much testing on my character, then experience, then examples, and the hardest comes when they asked me off guard questions like what other USP (unique selling point) can you think of for this product? Mind you all these brain squeezing questions were from the mouth of this HR personnel.

Overall, it was a good learning process and I did my very best. At least I know what to expect from big firms like this in the future. I do hope I can be part of Nestle but Management Trainee position is really a tough program. I dare not think beyond the outcome but its just the time to pray and wait for God to decide.

Always pray and not give up!

Today's message by Pastor Lawrence leave a deep thought in me. Its about how we should pray prayers that Touches Heaven, Changing Earth. He uses the passage on Luke 18:1-8 about a widow whom keep on bugging a judge to grant her justice against her enemy. Due to her consistency, the judge actually give in to her request with the thoughts of avoiding the bothering process anymore. This parable clearly defines that we should always pray and not give up. Its definitely another hard core process.

There are 3 types of prayers that we should adapt in our daily walk. Persistent prayer can be summarized in few scenarios. If we pray with a wrong motive, God says NO. If we pray at the wrong timing, God says SLOW DOWN, If we pray and the answer is delayed, God wants us to GROW,and if we pray at the right timing, God says GO! These points are still running through my mind. Trying to see the possibility in my current prayer requests.

Prophetic prayer is prayer that goes beyond the ordinary situation. In other words, we should stretch our prayers towards the future.In Habakuk 1: 5, it says watch whats happening and pray! When the answer comes, spiritual revival take place. Sometimes, we may find it hard to express in words and yes. crying can also be a form of prayer to God. It's praying in the spirit.

Lastly, Passionate prayer is all about our dedication and commitment to pray. Its not trying to set time for prayer but instead, it should be build within our schedule and habit to pray daily. Again, it strikes me to really evaluate my current prayer life. Hmmmm..

It may seem to be a hard core process, but His word is always an encouragement to bring us hope.

Romans 8:28 And we know in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have called according to his purpose.

I shall hope in the Lord and knowing that in all times, God make things beautiful :) Pray and trust!

Recharge and Digest

It was set to have 2 meetings today for CG planning and Frenz Ministry. Ended up with 3 meetings with the additional for Social Concern Ministry. One after another. Seriously serious I was zoom off during the last meeting and merely listening meanwhile digesting the plans and activities shared by Doreen. A thought to ask myself again am I ready to take up commitments? As much as I want to serve and feeling excited, its also a concern whether can I do it knowing there are so many uncertainties ahead of me? Perhaps should learn to cling on for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Phil 4:13. I want to recharge to serve and digest to the reason of serving. Variety of His 'fruits' to digest one at a time.

3D Challenge

We had our first YF leaders meeting and it's gonna be a year of transformation Inside-Out. More servants, more brains, more ideas and there it goes more fun and noises during the meeting.Reviewing new lesson is the 'BIG TASK' for all leaders in 2o11. No more last minute nor simplified lessons but deep hard core bible study. Something different yet challenging as it requires LOADS of reading.

God is moving in us and through us. Believing that He will also move among the youths. A challenge to grow in Devotion, Dedication and Discipline. Personally am challenged to spend more time with God, listening and humbling before Him. Dedicated to this people ministry by doing what I can, I like and I should. Putting myself in His training ground to grow with discipline.

Good start ahead and looking forward to serve. Anticipating to see God's work in the young peoples life :)

Grown up being ordinary but now is going beyond ordinary. Moving from simple expectations to high expectations and nearing perfectionist. I realized myself being very particular and even picky at things in life nowadays. Even some friends also commented on this. Errmmm..could it be the resulf of changes around me? People? Experiences? or it is that I've set expectations too high sometimes, trying to make sure is a perfect outcome. I think is okie to set expectations and be a little picky at times, cos there's where improvement occurs. If God sees it differently, then I hope that He will mould me to be a beautiful clay one day :)

After attending an interview this morning, I felt so demotivated even though I wasn't putting a high hope to get the job. I thought to myself, if the offer is okie, I shall go ahead but God has decided that Janice, you have to wait. Psalm 119:37 says.. 'Give me life in Thy ways'. That's exactly what it meant to surrender all unto Him. His ways and plans are bigger that ours and I would say taking up the challenge requires obedience and trust. If it's not because of His plans, I wouldn't have a chance to go for this camp. I'm truly amazed and surprised by God throughout the 3 weeks of reflections in Camp Cameron :)Though it may sound like some discipline camp that lasted for many many days, but nono! It was a fun yet life changing camp for me!

Here are some names that highlight who GOD is in my journey..

We had Lectio Divina every morning and it's an eye opener to me as I experienced the God who speaks in silence. Staying alert early in the morning was kinda tough, moreover it was a new style of doing devotion with eyes closed and silence..isnt it the best time to fall into our dreamland again? One thing that keep me going is an example that says if one morning we are given the chance to meet some VIP, how would we react? We will definitely be well prepare and make sure we seize the moments. Same goes to meeting God in Lectio Divina, its an opportunity to meet Him face to face where we should also learn to seize this moment. That makes me set a reminder to myself that every lectio divina is very precious :)

Next, we have solid studies on the Chronicles of God and His Kingdom. Learnt about God's who creates us and our life begins in Him. Also learnt on the life of Isaac, Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph and how God fulfilled His covenant from generations to generations. Another highlight was on Redeeming Relationship where we are challenge to restore and redeem the forgiveness from God with one our friends, family,ourself and the world. I personally feel that this is the major highlight for me. I tend to sweep things under the carpet and it is only through Him, that breakthrough and restoration happen. Thank You Lord :)

W.I was an interesting learning session. We had discussions where everyone contributed something towards the passages given.I would give a *thumbs up* for the FES staff because they really put so much time and effort in setting up every scene in order to create better visuality as we dig into His word. Likeey!

Weekend in Singapore

Spent a good weekend in Singapore with mum and sis. Loved her new house very much and I would really give a thumbs up on certain things that Singapore government did for their rakyats. Very clean environment, seriously I don't see much litter around.Smart engineers came up with MRT route that linked to few shopping complexes as the main pit stop for shoppers :) Clean, spacious, proper signboard. It is just a total big difference compared to our LRT and KTM transit. This trip was merely shopping and eating around cos sis was busy with work, could only get half day leave and spent dinner time with us. The stuff are kinda cheap and quality also not bad. After much contemplation , I decided to buy a Charles & Keith bag while mum bought 2 shirts from Robinson. It wasn't very expensive but affordable and I think its worth buying. Besides, we also went to Esplanade for a walk and took some snapshots. Hope the next trip to Singapore can visit Sentosa and Universal Studio with dad and mum. Enjoyed the trip and food muchie!!!

'Their' most anticipating moment has finally come to past. Not just them, but also us who hears about their months of preparations just for this day. Even the date was printed as part of the church events calender. 'June 12, 2010' -Andrew & Connie Wedding :) Hooray! We can officially call you both Uncle and Aunty Chow...whoopss..hope it doesn't sounds too typical...haha

It was a mixture of joyous and sentimental moment where we see tears and smiles at the same time. Well, in days and years to come, I prayed that God will grant you both a journey full of cheer, happiness and joy where it brings S-M-I-L-E every moment. I feel great to be back homeeeeyyyyy! 4 months down and I'm here to officially launch my FREEDOM! It may sounds pretty relax with just one subject,and yes indeed I was kind of like lazy but I know I did my best and God's has been faithful, that is more than enough :) Though I was so nervous (the normal kan-cheongness in me), din't manage to sleep well and woke up wee hours with the help of my 2 alarm, but thank God it went well.

What's next after exam? When to check out the booths in MV career fair and then met up with Sook Ping and Kit Yan for dinner. The career fair wasn't very impressive cos there were only a handful choice that relates to the industry that I'm keen on. On the other hand, my friends were feeling more excited than me that my exams are over for real..So we had a celebration dinner in Din Tai Fung, The Gardens. The food were just so so, was expecting more since the place was pack and their specialty is Shanghai Ramen. After all, companions matters most :)

The Lord says, ' I will grant you the strength to run the race and you will not be alone'. Pastor Julie came to share in our recent leaders meeting and she questioned us this, 'Were you appointed or lead to join the youth ministry?' That really struck my thoughts as I looked back how it all started for me serving in the ministry. It makes me think a lot for the past few weeks. I enjoyed serving because I simply love people and that's the passion that keeps me going. I do cherish the moments spent with the leaders and youths. For sure it's one of the most fun learning cum serving experience. Things has become a little different for the past 1 year when there were times I felt totally burnt out, tired and not much of excitement. It was merely a plain season for me. Experiences has taught me well that when I reach this phase, it's time to just 'selah' which requires reflect and refresh so that I can move on. It's just so different this time because it has prolong to a point where I'm actually searching for God's direction in this ministry. I thought I knew it well but hmmm... not very sure what's next. Just gotta hang on and pray till things happen.

Seeing, Believing, and Experiencing

Life journey is never a rose garden. Somedays, I may feel superb and all up for everything but of course, there are times where I feel moody and kept things to myself. Guess this is a real common thingy for every human. As I grow, I learnt to see things in God's perspective may it be something good or bad. Of course, learning to trust Him doesn't come overnight. It takes a little step of faith each day as I cross the path. I thank God for a friend of mine whom shared this verse to me when I was on my down side. It encourages me a lot and I'll ponder on this each time I walk through different season where I learn to see it in His ways, believing that He lead me through and embrace the experience like no other. Thank you Kuria :)

Months ago, I recalled we mentioned that we must have a lunch date soon. But it never happen till last Wednesday, our lunch date finally come to past! Met up with Krystle and we chilled for hours talking and sharing our grandmother stories since we've not catch up for almost a year!Sometimes I felt that keeping a friendship is never easy especially when we are caught up with own business. Moreover, she stays in Nilai which makes it even harder to meet up after church. Thank goodness we have KTM or else...she'll need to get a part time chauffer.

It wasn't merely a normal lunch date, but it was meant to celebrate Krystle's achievement in getting through her CLP and of course, my thesis achievement as well! Gooddd job Krystle :) I know it has been a tough time to complete her 3 years degree, working so so hard to get her 2nd class upper, and next was to further her CLP for 9 months, and finally its all done! God has taught her well to hang on, persevere and trust in all times! I'm so proud of you girl that despite all the hurdles, you din't give up :) If anyone is considering to be a lawyer, perhaps he or she gotta think hard, work hard, and go all out for it...according to soon to be lawyer Miss Krystle..hehe

Hopefully the next round we meet, I'll get to hear some stories about Shearn Delamore & Co where she'll be attach for 9 months of chambering. All the best girl!

Semester has finally started and it feels great to get back into uni life, meeting friends and also going for classes. I've got a new lecturer for this subject and his teaching seems to be way better than the previous lecturer. At least he tried his best to share some related examples. Enjoyed his lesson in class but it took a little while longer to catch his words sometimes cos he's all the way from India lol

Went for CF last week and I felt like a 'dino' there..seeing new faces but get to mingle with some old timers as well, not too bad. While waiting for class which only starts at 5pm..*very very late*, it was nice to spent my time with Nally in MCD, and had our Sundae ice cream fellowship! It's been long since I ate..it's just so yummy-licious :) Oh yea..I've got my belated Christmas chocoloate chip cookies from Nally...Thank kewss very muchie gal! Wondering when will I get to taste your chill cheese cake man..*hint hint*

Year end should always be a celebration season but this time round is a farewell for Andrea *sobs sobs*. Some of us actually recalled that last 6 months, we sent off Richard to Kuala Terengganu and now it's Andrea turn! Hmm..guess who's next? Anyways, I'm sure Andrea is all excited to know what God has plan for her in the coming 2 years :) We'll save and hunt for you in Kota Kinabalu. Make sure you are well equip to be our tour guide by then haha..had a good time cathing up with each other's happening in life and not forgetting, we had a GOOD dinner in Venezia Italiant Restaurant. It's worth for a 2nd visit when errr..I have save enough to go lol. Btw, if you are reading this post Richard, just wana let you know that you've MISSED OUT the FELLOWSHIP and GOOD FOOD! After 4 months of not learning anything out of it, Im done with IMS. Gone through struggles and frustrations, yet I managed to pull through to answer the final exam on Thursday. Thank God for wisdom. Even though I'm not really satisfied with how I answered the paper, afterall I just told myself its okie..nothing can be done except to pray and ask God to provide the best. I believe He will :)

Another paper coming up on Saturday and more to read up..meanwhile I'm happy to have my self declared 2 days break. I'm feeling so much better after resting and had a simple chill out session with some frens in Old Town..hehe..its my one random nite of freedom! whoa!

Just another 3 weeks from now.. go go Jan! u can finish ur thesis and have all the freedom after that! yay :) hang on!

2 days back, few bikers or maybe I should term them as 'mat rempits' were actually making some noise at my housing area at 2am, I was still awake thesis-ing..so went to check out but nothing happened, so thought it was okie. Just an hour ago,history repeats! This time, I sense something is wrong out there..me and mum actually heard a man's voice screaming and dogs were barking as well but we can't see what happened! we were terrified and I called Rakancop but its aint helping at all! I waited for 10 minutes and it kept on repeating this over and over again, 'panggilan anda akan dilayan sebentar lagi' sigh..I wonder why do they wana establish something that is not helping the residents at all :( perhaps whatever Rakan cop talk that some of us attended few weeks back was really a waste of time lo

Me and mum were really frighten off and kinda scared now..we'll see how is things tomoro since I can't simply call up police without seeing the whole scenario for now

I sat down for 1.5 hours, trying my very best to read up on IMS,well prepared with notes, study area and text book, somehow I ended up being clueless not knowing what exactly I'm reading on :( I really tried so hard to find the linkage of her notes towards the given study area but NOTHING out of it! I'm very nervous now cos I don't wana sit in the exam hall feeling clueless for 3 hours..Im lost Im worried and I don't seem to have anymore motivation to read on this subject..I believed everyone in the class felt the same way as I am but these people just have a 'don't care' attitude and not even wanting to ask her about it. What can a lone ranger do then? sigh..

God, I really need your wisdom to tell me which are the important areas to study. I find no help in others except from You

Finally I had my last of the last class in UCSI..ending my 3 years of Marketing degree with just 5 minutes in Marketing Promotion lecture..heehe..guess I'll kinda miss the yakking session with some of my frens :( but one thing for sure I'll definitely won't miss those lecturer whom are super lousy! okies time to work again..chiowzzzz

I'm finally back in action for now..just realized that Ive not been blogging for quite some time prob bout 2 months..well kinda busy with assignments, mid terms and thesis..which I'm still struggling to complete...thesis is really tough and its making me stress each day..I'm already a stress person by nature, plus expectations and limited guidelines.. I just feel like giving up each time :( Seriously ever since I started my thesis, somehow I felt that Im getting more dumb, lazy, slow..maybe because I just can't be a big thinker as my supervisor expected..or maybe is me being too careful to make sure that Im doing the perfect thesis..am not too sure though. It's gonna be due in one month time and all I can do now is to DO MY BEST! I'm practically getting lesser sleep each day and its kinda like RUSH HOUR for me! sigh..go go Jan! I can do it through Christ who strengthens me!

Psalms 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God;

This verse has been running through my mind this whole week..guess its a reminder once again for me to rely on God no matter what happens...I often questioned why God allow storms to come one after another and the next thought will be " will I survive"? I'm thankful that God has been faithful as I looked back how God shown His ever present help in times of trouble :) Often times I tend to be a worrier more than a warrior in Christ and I certainly know that its not right but again, saying is easier than doing..Sometimes just find it so hard to look on the bright side when things are not getting along. No matter what, all I can do is to cling on the His promises and let God deal with it. I believed that there's a time and reason for everything that happens.

I know this is kinda a belated post but late is better than nothing right? Well, May 1st may seems to be another ordinary day for some people, or it may be a day for working humans to really look forward to since Labor Day = rest day! But for this lovely couple, I guess this is the day that both of them had been waiting for after months of plannings and preparations! *Drum rolls* Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Choo ! You both are officially married! Haha..not forgetting from now on, the Goh family has a new member on board LOL!

After seeing how much they went through in the midst of preparations, I guess wedding is not as simple as I thought..perhaps having a wedding planner really helps a lot!Haha…but I can see that God has been journey-ing with them and it was an awesome wedding overall! Though there were minor hiccups along the way but I guess it has somehow strengthen their relationship and learning to complement with each other in this new journey :)

Harlooo peoplee!

I'm here! YES YES! Just as my title says so...Finally I'm here! Hehe...It has been months since I created my blog but guess what? This is my precious first post..no doubt I'm pretty slow working on it due to business and laziness..I'll try to speed up once I explore more about blogging LOL..
